Community Transport farewells Jan Ryan after 25 years

A changing of the guard occured this week as Jan Ryan, the driving force and long-time Manager of Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca Community Transport said her goodbyes after 25 years of service.  Mrs Ryan will be sorely missed by those within the organisation.

What began in a shared office at the Coffs Harbour City Council has grown to become a thriving community organisation with a budget of $2 million and 25 employees. This vital service provides much needed transport options to people from Nambucca Heads in the south to Woolgoolga in the north, and west to encompass both Bellingen and Dorrigo.  With a large team of volunteers working alongside the core staff, the team provides an alternative for those who are unable to access regular public transport.

The Member for Coffs Harbour, Andrew Fraser, has been a strong and vocal supporter of Community Transport.  Mr Fraser wishes Mrs Ryan all the best for retirement, while welcoming Bethany Simmonds aboard to steer the organisation to even greater heights in the coming years.
