The Member for Coffs Harbour, Andrew Fraser, has sought an urgent meeting with the newly appointed Minister for Police and Emergency Services, the Hon Michael Gallacher MLC, regarding the long awaiting new Justice Centre for Coffs Harbour.

“Preliminary Planning for a new Justice Centre has been promised for many years by successive Labor Governments.

“Now that the Coalition is in Government I am seeking an assurance that this will now become a reality,” Mr Fraser said.

“The current conditions at the Police State and Court House are outdated and cramped which makes it difficult for the staff working in these two buildings.

“The Coalition identified the need for a new Justice Centre for Coffs Harbour in 1995.

“I have requested an urgent meeting with Mr Michael Gallacher to impress upon him the urgent need for this work to commence and also to discuss Policing issue in the Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command,” Mr Fraser concluded.
