Member for Coffs Harbour, Mr Andrew Fraser today welcomed an upgrade and relocation of the Coffs Harbour Bus Exchange as part of the NSW Government’s Transport Access Program, a $770 million initiative to deliver accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure where it is needed most.

The upgrade and relocation of the Coffs Harbour Bus Exchange is one of 36 locations that are set for key transport interchange upgrades worth almost $40 million across the state.

Since the NSW Liberals & Nationals began the Transport Access Program, which puts a proper focus on investing in accessible public transport and making the network easier for customers to use, 115 projects have either been delivered or are underway.

“This latest investment focuses on lifting the standard of transport interchanges across the entire transport network, particularly in areas which were ignored by the previous Labor government for so long,” Fraser said.

“I welcome this investment in the local community.

“This program has ensured that real improvements to crucial transport infrastructure are delivered where they are needed most.

“The NSW Government is investing significant funds into the public transport system to make real improvements for customers.”

Transport for NSW has now started work to progress the design for the project.

The level of investment required, the final scale of the project and the delivery timeframes will be determined by this work and Transport for NSW will update the community at that time, Mr Fraser concluded.
