BIG BOOST FOR OZHARVEST WITH $88,482 TO HELP REDUCE ORGANIC WASTE

Local food rescue organisation OzHarvest has received an $88,482 State Government grant for the OzHarvest NSW Regional Food Rescue Expansion, Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser said. The government’s Organic Infrastructure grants program supports waste operators to help manage organic waste sustainably. A strategic business case for the 14 kilometre bypass of Coffs Harbour has been endorsed by Infrastructure NSW and submitted to the Australian Government, signalling an important milestone in the planning process. The Jaliigirr Biodiversity Alliance Inc. has received a $99,300 NSW Government grant to improve the connectivity of natural landscapes in the Great Eastern Ranges corridor, said the Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser. MIDWASTE has received a $200,000 NSW Government grant for litter reduction initiatives, Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser said. The NSW Government’s Litter Regional Implementation Program offers funding to the state’s 14 waste groups to support their member councils to work regionally to tackle litter problems unique to their communities. Coffs Harbour Public School will reap the rewards of gardening success with a $3500 NSW Government Eco Schools grant, said the Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser.
