Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser encourages the community to embrace Youth Week 2018, which is celebrated from 13 to 22 April.
NSW Youth Week is an annual celebration of young people across the State and this year’s theme is “Unity Through Diversity”.
Mr Fraser said he was pleased young people on the Coffs Coast had participated in arranging local events.
“Our young people are some of the most dedicated and committed members of our community,” Mr Fraser said.
“Youth Week 2018 is a chance to take a moment and celebrate what they do.”
The Minister Responsible for Youth, Ray Williams, said thousands of youth have been involved in organising activities including photography exhibitions, writing competitions and hip-hop dance classes.
“NSW Youth Week offers young people an opportunity to connect with both their peers and their local community,” Mr Williams said.
“It is also an opportunity for me to hear directly from young people about ways the NSW Government can progress services.”
The NSW Government provides over $240,000 in matched funding to local councils across the State to support locally led community events.
