Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser is thrilled the refurbishment of the Rugby Park Clubhouse at Toormina has the green light.
Mr Fraser said the State Government has allocated $156,072 for this much-needed project, which will upgrade and refurbish the clubhouse.
“More than 400 rugby players – juniors, women, men and golden oldies – regularly use this facility, along with schools during gala days, and many community groups,” Mr Fraser said.
“I congratulate Coffs Harbour City Council and Sawtell Toormina Sport and Recreation Club Inc. for the successful application for Stronger Country Communities funding.
“This revamp will provide a long-term solution to a leaking roof, which has damaged the internal building, and replace damaged ceiling panels and carpet.
“The project will replace the ageing stairs to the spectator viewing deck, and refresh the internal building with new paint and new doors, along with other improvements.”
Stronger Country Communities is one of the six funds which make up the NSW Government’s $1.3 billion Regional Growth fund, designed to improve economic growth and productivity through investment in regional communities.
Stronger Country Communities Round 2 applications close on May 4.
