NSW Fair Trading visits Coffs Harbour next week, delivering information sessions on consumer rights and trader responsibilities in the property industry, covering residential land leases, property management and self-managing landlords.
Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser said the free information sessions will run over one full day, on Tuesday 13 November 2018, at C.ex Coffs in Vernon Street.
“This is a great opportunity for our locals to get an update on changes in the real estate industry, as either professionals, tenants or self-managing landlords,” Mr Fraser said.
The Property Management information seminar provides vital education to licence and certificate holders under the Property, Stock and Business Agents Act 2002, including handling common landlord and tenant complaints, record keeping requirements, and managing conflicts of interest.
The Self-Managing Landlords seminar also offers comprehensive education of a landlord’s rights and responsibilities.
“Self-managing landlords are encouraged to join this session which addresses really important issues such as rental bonds, dispute resolution, law reform and proposed legislation,” Mr Fraser said.
“Fair Trading’s visit is designed to reach out to the community and ensure individuals and businesses understand their rights and responsibilities.”
Coffs Coast locals should register their attendance prior to the event, as spaces are limited and are only available on one day.
11am to 12 noon: Residential Land Lease Communities
