Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser is throwing his support behind the NRL’s Road to Regions tour as it visits the Coffs Coast today.
Mr Fraser is at Mullaway Public School this afternoon when he will join Fa’amanu Brown (Bulldogs) and Isabelle Kelly (NSW and Jillaroos) as they meet schoolchildren, conduct a rugby league skills clinic and deliver the State of Mind mental health program.
This initiative is designed to increase mental health literacy and reduce the stigma around mental illness. The players will also talk about cyber safety and safe online behaviour.
“Road to Regions is a fantastic opportunity for our local schoolchildren to meet some of the stars of the NRL before the season commences,” Mr Fraser said.
“I applaud the NRL for having the players visit their fans in regional communities, and for delivering targeted education messages around respect, positive mental wellbeing and empowering one another.
“The NRL Road to Regions Coffs Coast visit is proudly supported by the NSW Government and I warmly welcome the players and their support staff.”
Mr Fraser said Road to Regions also visits Woolgoolga Public School this afternoon.
