Member for Coffs Harbour Andrew Fraser said Sawtell Tennis Club members and players are benefiting from a $41,600 State Government grant to upgrade court lighting.
Mr Fraser congratulates the club for its successful application under the 2018 Community Building Partnership Program, with the club upgrading to LED lighting on six courts.
The new lights have arrived at the club, ready for installation.
“This is fantastic news for Sawtell Tennis Club, its vibrant membership and the many players who use these popular facilities,” Mr Fraser said.
The Sawtell Tennis Club lights are among 16 projects on the Coffs Coast to attract funding through the NSW Government’s 2018 Community Building Partnership Program.
These local funds, worth a total of $330,000, are boosting sporting clubs, service clubs, preschools, care organisations, scouts and guides, our showground and a local community garden.
“The NSW Liberals’ and Nationals’ strong economic management ensures this Government has been able to invest in these important local projects,” Mr Fraser said.
“This grassroots funding is helping create a more vibrant and inclusive local community with positive social, environmental and recreation outcomes.”
The NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program has funded some 13,800 community projects since it commenced nearly a decade ago.
